Timex Group India posted its highest-ever quarterly revenue and profit in Q2 FY27. Revenue grew 47% year-on-year to ₹359 crore, while net profit jumped 56% to ₹47 crore, driven by a strong premium product mix and robust e-commerce growth.

For Timex Group India, the September quarter was about translating a multi-brand, multi-channel strategy into its strongest financial performance yet. The watchmaker delivered record revenue and profit, with earnings growth outpacing sales as its premium push gained traction.

The numbers show a business firing on all cylinders. Revenue hit a new high of ₹358 crore, up 47% from a year ago and a sharp 64% from the June quarter. Net profit rose 56% year-on-year to ₹47 crore, with the net profit margin expanding to 13.1%.

Why the margin expanded even as costs rose

Profit growth outpaced revenue thanks to operating leverage. According to an earnings call transcript from Investing.com, Managing Director Deepak Chhabra noted that fixed costs rose only 6-8% while business grew about 35%. This leverage flowed to the bottom line.

The company also executed a selective price increase of 5-15% across brands in April, as noted in the same call. This helped offset some pressure from higher costs for imported movements, gold, and silver. While product gross margin dipped slightly, the overall net margin improved.

The engines of growth: E-commerce and premium brands

Growth was broad-based but led by specific channels and labels. E-commerce revenue surged 75% year-on-year, according to ETRetail. The trade channel grew 34%, while the exclusive retail network expanded 48% with the addition of four new stores.

Among brands, the flagship Timex label grew 67%, as reported by ETRetail. GUESS grew 57%, supported by new collections and brand ambassador Tamannaah Bhatia. The company's premiumisation focus is clear, with products above ₹10,000 now contributing 14% of its business.

A capacity-led expansion plan

Management is betting this momentum is sustainable. The Baddi manufacturing plant is running at full capacity and plans are finalised to double it to 12 million units by May next year, per the Investing.com transcript. The capex for this is a modest $1.2 million.

On retail, the plan is aggressive but asset-light. The company aims to grow from 44 exclusive stores to over 200 in three years, all through a franchise model. This expansion is designed to capture more of the duopoly market it shares with Titan in the ₹2,000-10,000 price band.

Key Points

  • Timex Group India achieved its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹358 crore and profit of ₹47 crore in Q2 FY27.
  • Profit growth of 56% outpaced revenue growth of 47%, lifting the net profit margin to 13.1% on the back of strong operating leverage.
  • Growth was led by a 75% surge in e-commerce sales and robust performance from premium brands like Timex (up 67%) and GUESS (up 57%).
  • The company plans to double its manufacturing capacity and expand its exclusive retail network to over 200 stores in the next three years through an asset-light franchise model.

Hexa Perspective

The quarter demonstrates Timex's successful execution of a premium, multi-channel strategy within a favourable market structure. Its duopoly with Titan in the core analog segment provides a stable competitive moat, while its asset-light expansion limits capital risk.

The key test ahead is sustaining this growth rate off a much higher base while navigating input cost volatility. The planned capacity and retail expansion suggest management's confidence in demand, but the valuation at a premium to the industry already prices in much of this optimism. Investors are now weighing execution against these elevated expectations.
