The menswear retailer's Q2 revenue surged 56% YoY, but strong growth is tied to inventory build-up and negative operating cash flow.
Forcas Studio reported a 55.8% jump in Q2 FY27 revenue to ₹130 crore, with profit up 71.9%. The growth was driven by quick commerce expansion and a wider distribution network, though it came with a significant working capital build.
Forcas Studio is sprinting to capture India's value menswear market, betting on quick commerce and a vast distributor network. Its Q2 FY27 results show that push is delivering explosive top-line growth, with revenue up 55.8% year-on-year to ₹130.35 crore. Profit surged even faster, rising 71.9% to ₹9.99 crore, as operating leverage kicked in.
The numbers mark a clear acceleration. Sequentially, revenue grew 14.4% from the March quarter, while profit rose 26.1%. The net profit margin expanded to 7.7%, up 80 basis points from a year ago. This performance builds on a strong trajectory over the past year.

Growth was powered by a multi-channel strategy hitting its stride. According to reports from Outlook Business and Bull AI, the company expanded its distributor network by roughly 54% over the past year, now targeting 800 distributors. Its flagship FTX brand also launched on Flipkart Minutes in July, joining Zepto and Myntra M-Now in the quick-commerce arena.
This channel expansion, aimed at Tier 2-4 cities, is the primary driver behind the revenue leap. Management has guided for 25-30% annual growth in FY27, a target the first half has comfortably exceeded.
The profit growth was largely operational. Flash Finance News reported that core business profit grew 60.9% YoY, accounting for 95% of the total—the remaining 5% came from other income. Operating margin expanded 115 basis points, showing the asset-light model can deliver leverage as sales scale.

However, this growth has a cost. The same report notes that for the first half of FY27, cash flow from operations was negative ₹20.1 crore, equivalent to -299% of H1 net profit. This points to a major working capital build, likely from funding the inventory needed to stock new quick-commerce dark stores and a wider retail network.
This cash flow dynamic is the critical watchpoint. The company's asset-light model keeps fixed costs low, but financing rapid growth through inventory and receivables can strain liquidity. With the festive season underway, the focus will be on whether sales velocity can convert this built-up inventory back into cash.
Industry reports from Crisil, cited by The Economic Times, suggest the organised apparel retail sector's revenue growth will moderate to 12-13% this fiscal, with margins under pressure from rising cotton prices. Forcas's outperformance comes from gaining share, but it must navigate the same industry cost pressures.
Key Points
Forcas Studio is demonstrating it can win in the value menswear space by being wherever the customer shops—from neighborhood stores to 20-minute delivery apps. The Q2 numbers validate that strategy.
The concern is funding. Growth at this pace is cash-intensive, and the negative operating cash flow shows the model is in investment mode. The next few quarters will test whether sales momentum, especially through the festive season, can improve inventory turnover and ease the working capital strain. Success would show the growth is sustainable; a prolonged cash burn would question its quality.
