Yes Bank reported a robust 32.5% jump in quarterly profit, with net profit margin expanding by 270 basis points. Revenue grew 5.9% year-on-year, showing steady top-line momentum.

Yes Bank has delivered a strong quarter of earnings growth, with profit surging well ahead of revenue. The bank's net profit for Q1 FY27 jumped 32.5% compared to the same period last year, a clear sign of improving profitability.

The bank's revenue grew a steady 5.9% year-on-year to ₹8,054 crore. However, the real story is the expansion in net profit margin, which rose 270 basis points to 13.3% from 10.6% a year ago. This indicates the bank is successfully converting more of its top line into bottom-line earnings. Sequentially, revenue grew 5.1% from the March quarter, though profit saw a marginal 1.0% dip.

A look at the last five quarters shows a clear trajectory of recovery and stabilization in profitability.

Profit has more than doubled from the low of ₹664 crore in Q2 FY26, while the net profit margin has climbed from 9.0% to the current 13.3%. The trailing twelve-month (TTM) net profit margin stands at 12.3%, slightly below the latest quarter, suggesting recent performance is lifting the average.

On the stock front, shares have gained 20.7% over the past year, reflecting investor optimism around the bank's turnaround. The bank's valuation, trading at a P/E of 15.4, commands a 26% premium to the industry average, indicating the market is pricing in its recovery story. The key question now is whether Yes Bank can sustain this improved level of profitability in the coming quarters.
