Tata Motors' first-quarter results for FY27 reveal a powerful profit rebound, with earnings surging 83% year-on-year. This impressive growth came even as revenue softened sequentially from the previous quarter's peak, highlighting a significant improvement in profitability.
Year-on-year, revenue grew by a healthy 19.3% to ₹20,667 crore. The real story, however, is the profit performance. Profit after tax (PAT) soared to ₹2,556 crore, a sharp increase from ₹1,397 crore in Q1 FY26. This translated to a net profit margin of 12.4%, a substantial 430 basis point expansion from the 8.1% margin a year ago. Sequentially, revenue declined 20.8% from the seasonally strong Q4 FY26, but profit still managed to grow 42.6% quarter-on-quarter.
