Nestle India's first-quarter earnings show robust yearly growth, with profit surging 48.3% on a 25.2% revenue increase. The net profit margin expanded significantly from a year ago.

Nestle India delivered a strong year-on-year performance for the quarter ended June 2026, with profit growth far outpacing a healthy rise in sales. However, earnings softened compared to the preceding March quarter, reflecting a typical seasonal pattern for the consumer goods leader.

Revenue for Q1 FY27 came in at ₹6,378 crore, a 25.2% increase from the same period last year. Profit after tax jumped an impressive 48.3% to ₹959 crore. This profit surge was driven by a significant expansion in net profit margin, which rose 230 basis points year-on-year to 15.0%. This indicates the company successfully translated higher sales into even greater profitability.

A look at the recent quarterly trajectory shows the earnings momentum built over the past year.

The latest quarter's revenue and profit were down 5.5% and 13.7% respectively from the seasonally strong fourth quarter. On a trailing twelve-month (TTM) basis, the company's net profit margin stands at a healthy 15.6%.

Key Points

  • The company maintains a rock-solid balance sheet with zero debt.
  • Return on Equity (RoE) remains exceptionally high at 76.34%.
  • The stock has delivered a strong 37.6% return over the past year, though it trades at a premium valuation of 64.7 times earnings.

Nestle India's latest results demonstrate its ability to drive profitable growth, with the key question being whether it can sustain these elevated margin levels in the coming quarters.
