The refractory maker's quarterly revenue crossed ₹100 crore, driven by strong demand and a strategic shift to premium products, with a major cost-saving mine set to start in early 2027.
Monolithisch India's Q2 FY27 revenue more than tripled year-on-year to ₹100.79 crore, while profit soared 325%. The growth was fueled by robust demand for its premium ramming mass and a successful capacity ramp-up.
For Monolithisch India, a maker of specialized refractory linings for steel furnaces, the story has shifted from steady growth to explosive scaling. The company’s second-quarter results show what happens when capacity meets strong underlying demand, with revenue more than tripling from a year ago and profit soaring even faster.
The numbers tell a clear story of acceleration. Revenue for the quarter ended September 2026 stood at ₹100.79 crore, a 260% jump from the same period last year. Sequentially, sales more than doubled from ₹47.19 crore in Q1. Net profit followed suit, rising 325% year-on-year to ₹21.24 crore.

The profit margin improved by 320 basis points compared to last year, settling at a healthy 21.1%. This margin expansion, according to reports from PTI News and Inve, was powered by a rapid customer shift towards the company’s premium ‘SGB Limited’ product series, which offers a longer lifespan for furnace linings.
While current performance is strong, management’s focus during its September investor call was squarely on the future. The main news was the winning of a captive quartzite mine block at Nawada, Bihar. According to the Inve call summary, this mine is expected to start operations in January or February 2027.
Its impact is projected to be transformative. Management expects a 40% reduction in raw material procurement costs, which analysts from Arthneeti note should boost EBITDA margins by at least 4-5 percentage points from the current analyst-cited level of around 28%. Crucially, the raw material prices are fixed for five years, providing a long-term hedge against inflation.
Simultaneously, Monolithisch is embarking on a 52% capacity expansion. It plans to add 3 lakh tonnes per annum (TPA) via new plants in Hospet and Udaipur by late 2027, taking total capacity to about 8.75 lakh TPA. The Inve report states the total capital expenditure for this is just ₹45 crore.
Remarkably, management insists this growth will be almost entirely self-funded. The plan is to release ₹20-30 crore tied up in inventory—which will fall from 90-120 days to 10-15 days once the mine is operational—to fund the expansion. The company has ruled out a fund raise, capping any potential borrowing at a short-term ₹5-10 crore bridge loan.
Key Points
The quarter confirms Monolithisch is successfully executing its scale-up playbook. The revenue beat its own Q2 guidance of ₹55-60 crore by a wide margin, suggesting demand is even stronger than anticipated. The valuation at a P/E of 91.3x, a 70% premium to the industry, prices in several years of this high growth continuing flawlessly.
The investment case now hinges entirely on the timely and successful commissioning of the Nawada mine. The promised 40% cost saving is the linchpin for both margin expansion and the working capital release needed to fund expansion. Any delay or operational hiccup there would challenge the narrative of self-funded, high-margin growth. For now, the company is delivering on the top line, and the market is betting it will deliver on the cost side too.
