Madhav Marbles & Granites reported a 344% YoY jump in profit for Q1 FY27, though revenue slipped slightly. The quarter ended with a net loss and a sharp decline from the profitable Q4.

Madhav Marbles & Granites reported a sharp year-on-year improvement in profitability for the first quarter of FY27, even as its revenue edged lower. The company's profit surged by 344.4% compared to the same period last year, although it fell back into a loss position after a profitable Q4.

The latest quarter saw revenue of ₹7.91 crore, a modest 1.5% decline from Q1 FY26. However, the profit story is more complex. While the year-on-year growth is dramatic, the profit of -₹0.80 crore represents a significant 153.7% drop from the ₹1.49 crore earned in the preceding quarter (Q4 FY26). This swing pushed the net profit margin deep into negative territory at -10.1%, a stark reversal from the 16.1% margin achieved just three months prior.

A look at the recent quarterly trajectory shows the inherent volatility in the company's earnings.

The trailing twelve-month (TTM) performance remains subdued, with a cumulative net profit margin of -0.8% on revenue of ₹30.59 crore. This earnings volatility has been reflected in the stock's performance, which has declined approximately 20.9% over the past year.

Key Points

  • The company maintains a very low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.09, indicating a strong balance sheet.
  • Return on Equity (ROE) for the TTM period stands at -1.19%.
  • The stock closed at ₹35.04 on the results announcement date.

The core challenge for Madhav Marbles is translating sporadic quarterly profits into sustained, positive net profit margins.
