IMP Powers Q1 Revenue Skyrockets Over 2,000%, But Profitability Turns Negative

The electrical equipment maker's sales soared year-on-year, but a quarterly loss highlights ongoing profitability challenges.

By Vinayak Gandhi, CFA

IMP Powers reported a massive year-on-year revenue increase for Q1 FY27, though profit fell back into negative territory compared to the previous quarter.

IMP Powers has delivered a quarter of extreme contrasts. For the period ended June 2026, the electrical transformer manufacturer's revenue exploded, growing by over 2,000% compared to the same quarter last year. However, this top-line surge was accompanied by a slide back into losses, with profit declining both year-on-year and sharply from the profitable previous quarter.

The company's revenue reached ₹38.78 crore in Q1 FY27, a significant sequential increase of 34.6% from ₹28.82 crore in Q4 FY26. Yet, profit swung to a loss of ₹0.78 crore, down from a profit of ₹6.44 crore in the March quarter. This resulted in a net profit margin of -2.0%, a stark reversal from the 22.3% margin achieved just three months prior.

A look at the recent quarterly trajectory shows the volatility in the company's performance:

While the trailing twelve-month (TTM) figures show a modest overall profit of ₹1.34 crore on revenue of ₹68.45 crore, the latest quarter's loss raises questions about the sustainability of earnings. The key challenge for IMP Powers will be to stabilize its newfound revenue scale and consistently translate it into bottom-line profitability.
