CES posted a 7.5% YoY revenue increase in Q1 FY26, but profit fell sharply, highlighting a significant squeeze on net profit margins.
CES reported a mixed Q1 FY26, with revenue rising 7.5% year-on-year but profit declining 24.6%. The company's net profit margin contracted significantly from the same period last year.
CES Ltd. delivered a quarter of contrasting fortunes for the three months ended June 2025. While the IT services firm saw a healthy uptick in its top line, its bottom line came under significant pressure, pointing to a squeeze on profitability.
Revenue for Q1 FY26 grew 7.5% year-on-year to ₹142 crore, continuing a positive sequential trend with a 7.6% increase over the previous quarter. However, profit after tax (PAT) fell sharply by 24.6% compared to Q1 FY25, landing at ₹6.4 crore. This divergence between revenue and profit growth led to a notable contraction in the net profit margin, which dropped 190 basis points to 4.5% from 6.4% a year ago.
The quarter-on-quarter picture offers some relief, with profit rebounding 43.9% from a low base in Q4 FY25. The trailing twelve-month (TTM) net profit margin stands at 5.1%, suggesting the latest quarter's margin is below the recent average.
