Shardul Securities reported a powerful Q1 FY27, with revenue soaring 101% and profit jumping 102.7% year-on-year. This marks a decisive recovery from a string of negative quarters.

Shardul Securities has kicked off FY27 with a powerful rebound, posting a more than doubling of both revenue and profit compared to the same quarter last year. This marks a decisive recovery for the financial services firm after a volatile period of negative results.

The company's revenue for the quarter ended June 2026 stood at ₹189.26 crore, a 101% increase from ₹94.15 crore in Q1 FY26. Profit followed a similar trajectory, rising 102.7% to ₹142.67 crore from ₹70.37 crore a year ago. The net profit margin improved slightly to 75.4%, up 70 basis points from 74.7% in the prior-year quarter.

This stellar performance is a stark reversal from the preceding three quarters, where the company reported negative revenue and profits. The sequential comparison is dramatic, with revenue up over 4,000% from a very low base of ₹4.59 crore in Q4 FY26, though profit swung from a loss of ₹63.74 crore to the current solid gain.

Key Points

  • The trailing twelve-month (TTM) net profit margin stands at 16.4%, significantly lower than the latest quarter's high margin, reflecting the impact of past losses.
  • The company maintains a robust balance sheet with minimal debt (Debt-to-Equity of 0.03) and a high interest coverage ratio of 38.56.
  • Despite the strong quarterly earnings, the stock trades at a P/E of 10.9, a 46% discount to the industry average P/E of 20.2.

The challenge for Shardul Securities will be to demonstrate that this quarter's explosive growth represents a sustainable new normal, rather than a correction from an unusually weak prior period.
