The educational publisher's profit fell 10% year-on-year, while revenue remained nearly flat, indicating a margin squeeze in the first quarter.
Navneet Education's Q1 FY27 results show a mixed picture. While revenue held steady, profit declined year-on-year, though a sharp sequential recovery from a weak Q4 is a positive sign.
Navneet Education's first-quarter results for FY27 present a story of resilience and recovery, albeit with underlying pressure on profitability. While revenue was nearly unchanged from the same period last year, profit saw a meaningful decline, highlighting a squeeze on margins. The quarter, however, marks a decisive rebound from a very weak performance in the preceding three months.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 2026 came in at ₹788 crore, a marginal 0.8% dip compared to the ₹794 crore reported in Q1 FY26. Profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹141 crore, down 10.2% year-on-year from ₹157 crore. This divergence pushed the net profit margin down to 17.9%, a contraction of 190 basis points from the 19.8% margin a year ago.
The sequential story is far more positive. Compared to the March 2026 quarter, revenue surged 83.3% and profit skyrocketed by 261.5%. This dramatic bounce-back follows a period of extreme volatility, as shown in the company's recent quarterly performance.

The table illustrates the company's highly seasonal and sometimes erratic earnings pattern over the past year. The latest quarter's performance, while softer than last year's comparable period, restores a more normalized level of profitability after a loss-making Q2 and a thin-margin Q4.
Key Points
Looking ahead, the key challenge for Navneet will be to stabilize its quarterly earnings trajectory and defend its profitability against any persistent cost pressures, building on the operational recovery seen this quarter.
