Nahar Poly Films reported robust quarterly results, with profit soaring 52% year-on-year. This was driven by a sharp improvement in net profit margin, even as revenue growth remained modest.

Nahar Poly Films concluded its financial year on a strong note, delivering a sharp rebound in profitability for the crucial March quarter. While revenue growth was steady, a significant expansion in net profit margin drove profit up by more than half compared to the same period last year.

The company's fourth quarter (Q4 FY26) performance shows a clear focus on operational efficiency. Revenue inched up 7% year-on-year to ₹167.68 crore. However, profit after tax surged 51.8% to ₹19.82 crore. This was powered by a net profit margin of 11.8%, a 350 basis point improvement from the 8.3% margin in Q4 FY25. Sequentially, profit also grew strongly by 21.7% on nearly flat revenue, indicating further margin gains.

The quarterly table reveals a positive trend in profitability over the past year, with margins strengthening in three of the last four quarters. This quarterly strength, however, contrasts with the full-year picture. For FY25, the company's annual profit of ₹36.36 crore represents a dramatic swing from a loss in FY24, but it remains well below the levels seen three years ago. The five-year profit CAGR of -25.4% underscores the volatility the business has navigated.

Financially, the company maintains a conservative balance sheet with low debt. The stock trades at a P/E of 10.2, a significant discount to the industry average, reflecting the historical earnings challenges. The strong finish to the year suggests Nahar Poly Films is executing a turnaround, with the key question being whether it can sustain this improved level of profitability into the new fiscal year.
