KSR Footwear Returns to Profitability, But Momentum Slows Sharply

The footwear exporter's revenue held steady year-on-year, but profit fell sharply from the previous quarter, signalling a slowdown in earnings momentum.

By HexaWealth Research

KSR Footwear reported a marginal revenue increase but a steep quarterly profit drop in Q1 FY27. While the company remains profitable, the sharp decline from Q4 highlights ongoing volatility.

KSR Footwear's first-quarter results for FY27 present a mixed picture. While the company managed to stay in the black with a small profit, its earnings momentum slowed significantly from the strong performance seen in the previous quarter.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 2026 was nearly flat year-on-year at ₹52.25 crore, showing a marginal 0.4% increase. However, compared to the March 2026 quarter, sales declined by 13.3%. More notably, profit after tax plummeted by 93.7% sequentially to just ₹0.32 crore, down from ₹5.07 crore in Q4 FY26. On a year-on-year basis, this still represents a significant improvement from a loss of ₹4.83 crore in Q1 FY26.

The net profit margin for the latest quarter stands at a thin 0.6%. This is a stark drop from the 8.4% margin achieved in the previous quarter, though a major recovery from the -9.3% margin a year ago. The company's trailing twelve-month (TTM) performance remains in negative territory, with a cumulative loss of ₹7.59 crore on revenue of ₹200.13 crore, resulting in a TTM net profit margin of -3.8%.

A look at the last five quarters shows the volatile path to this quarter's slim profit:

The key challenge for KSR Footwear will be to sustain and build upon its return to profitability after a string of losses, while navigating the apparent top-line pressure seen this quarter.
