Azad Engineering's Revenue Momentum Continues Despite Profit Margin Squeeze

The aerospace component maker posted strong year-on-year sales growth, but profitability softened sequentially.

Azad Engineering's Q1 FY27 revenue grew 25.9% YoY, though profit declined 4.5% from the previous quarter, indicating margin pressure.

Azad Engineering kicked off FY27 with robust revenue growth, but a sequential dip in profit signals some pressure on profitability. The company's top line expanded by a healthy 25.9% year-on-year, yet profit fell 4.5% compared to the preceding March quarter, reflecting a contraction in net profit margin.

This dynamic is clear in the quarterly trend. Revenue has climbed steadily over the past five quarters, while profit growth has been more uneven, leading to fluctuating margins.

On a trailing twelve-month (TTM) basis, the company's net profit margin stands at 21.8%, slightly above the latest quarter's level. This suggests the Q1 margin may be a temporary dip rather than a new normal.

Beyond the income statement, Azad maintains a strong balance sheet. The company's debt-to-equity ratio is a conservative 0.17, and its current ratio of 4.91 indicates ample liquidity. The stock has delivered a stellar 56.9% return over the past year, though its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 100.6 trades at a significant premium to the industry. The key question for investors is whether the company can translate its impressive revenue trajectory back into consistent profit margin expansion in the coming quarters.
