Aeroflex Neu's first-quarter earnings show a severe contraction. Revenue declined 4.9% YoY, while profit plummeted 90%, pushing net profit margin to just 0.3%.

Aeroflex Neu's first-quarter results for FY27 reveal a sharp deterioration in profitability, as a decline in sales combined with severe margin pressure led to a near-erasure of net profit. The company's core earnings momentum has stalled, marking a challenging start to the new fiscal year.

The latest quarter saw revenue of ₹28.24 crore, down 4.9% from the same period last year and 17.1% lower than the preceding quarter. More critically, profit after tax (PAT) collapsed to just ₹0.08 crore, a 90.1% year-on-year drop. This resulted in a net profit margin of only 0.3%, a stark contraction from the 2.7% margin achieved in Q1 FY26.

A look at the last five quarters shows the volatility in the company's performance:

The table highlights a pattern of declining profitability over the past year, with margins falling from over 3% to near-zero levels. While the company returned to a small profit this quarter after a loss in Q4, earnings remain a fraction of what they were a year ago.

Key Points

  • The trailing twelve-month (TTM) net profit margin stands at 0.8%, indicating sustained pressure on overall profitability.
  • The company maintains a conservative balance sheet with a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.28.
  • However, returns remain modest, with a Return on Equity (ROE) of 2.06% and a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of 5.04%.
  • The stock trades at a significant premium, with a P/E of 122.1 against an industry average of 26.0.

With net profit margins now in the low single digits, the immediate focus for Aeroflex Neu will be on restoring both sales growth and operational efficiency to revive its earnings power.
